I always hear the phrase, - WORK SMARTER NOT HARDER

I don't believe in luck or in hard work without the so-called "work smarter". It's not all about how hard you work but it's about how you manage your time, resources plus mind to work together for a better output. It doesn’t matter whether you’re the CEO or you’re working a 9-5 job -everyone is looking for ways to be more productive.

Productivity has become a top priority for businesses and individuals striving to become better at what they do - fortunately we’ve got plenty of tools on our side. However, the negative side of this is that there are a lot of sales pitches hidden among the genuine advice.

However, we’re not focusing on the tools here today but rather the techniques and habitual changes that make a real difference to productivity. These are backed by science and geared towards the needs of modern digital workers.

Changing bad habits is the key to productivity.

1. Self-care first! Free up your time with technology. Use your morning to focus on yourself. Start your day out right by ignoring your texts/emails in the morning and getting in a good breakfast, reading the news, meditating, or working out. This will ensure you’ve got the necessary fuel for a productive day.

2. Set S.M.A.R.T goals. Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Timely. Make sure to reach your target goal no matter what. No excuses because whether your excuse is good or bad at the end of the day you still weren’t able to reach them.

3. Create a system. Tackle your challenging tasks before lunch. Knock out your most challenging work when your brain is fresh. Do the easy ones in the afternoon. schedule your day this way so that you’ll be able to create a more productive way to manage your time otherwise, you’ll find yourself getting distracted from accomplishing more important goals throughout the day.

4. Take real breaks. Vacations and even shorter breaks (take an afternoon off) where you get some physical and psychological space from the demands of life can enhance your productivity. It can reduce stress, you get clearer thinking -that can help you increase your productivity: All of these can make you find clarity in your business, more available in your relationships, more energetic with your families, and more able to enjoy life after you return.

5. Delegate. Delegation gives you time and energy to do more important tasks that only YOU can do. For example, attending live meetings, going live on social media, doing paid classes so on and so forth. A common oversight is when you try to do most of the work yourself, such as scheduling your social media accounts to keep on top of your email list. This may leave you lacking the time to do more important tasks, like following up leads and learning the latest industry techniques. When you delegate things that you don’t need to do personally, you free up time that may be more valuable for certain tasks that require your expertise and energy.
