Get the Most Out of Your IG Profile Picture

Although it’s display size is only small, your display picture is essentially your first impression on Instagram and this is what makes it so important. 

 

When considering what to set as your profile picture, it’s important to first understand how you want to present your brand. 

 

The first major decision to make is whether your picture should be of your face or your company logo. Businesses that have a recognisable logo or want consumers to communicate with the business as a whole rather than an individual are better off using their logo as the display picture. 

 

Keep in mind if using a logo you may need to entirely resign something to fit the circular dimensions that remains legible and recognisable. Ensure the colours are on-brand and match the aesthetic of your feed.

 

If your individual presence is really important and heavily attached to your brand, then you may consider using an image of yourself. This will allow people to connect with your account on a more personal level.

 

If going down this path, ensure you select a photo that is high quality, showcases your eyes, a big smile and is cropped. Due to the size of the display it is best to keep the image cropped from your shoulders up rather than opting for full length. 

 

Try to look approachable & comfortable, welcome people in to your profile!
